Columbia, S.C. – After a week and a half off, the University of South Carolina men’s soccer team (2-1) is back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7:00 p.m. to take on the Charlotte 49ers. Charlotte has posted a 1-1-2 record, with their only win coming in double overtime against Gardner Webb. USC hosts Gardner Webb Monday, Oct. 15 at 7:00 p.m.
On Sunday, Sept. 23 the Gamecocks return to Eugene E. Stone III Stadium to host No. 24 Wake Forest at 2:00 p.m. This is the 22nd meeting between the two teams with South Carolina leading the series, 9-8-4. The match-up between the Gamecocks and the Demon Deacons will begin at 2:00 p.m.
In recognition of National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the USC men’s soccer team is inviting families of children touched by cancer to their game on September 23rd. All families are invited to attend the game free of charge. At halftime, Coach Berson will present the proceeds from the 2001 Children’s Chance Benefit Soccer Clinic that he and his team sponsored earlier this year. Following the game, the children will have a chance to meet the Gamecocks and get autographs. To register, please call the Children’s Chance office at 254-5996.
