COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina’s No. 19 ranked men’s tennis team received an at-large bid to compete in the 2002 NCAA Championships out of the Athens, Georgia regional.

The Gamecocks square off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the opening round on May 11th. The region’s other opening round match features No. 1 ranked Georgia against Charleston Southern. Winners on the opening day will return to the courts on May 12th to determine who will advance into the round of 16.

Junior Seth Rose will be the lone Gamecock competing in the NCAA Individual Championships. Seeding and bracket information for the individual tournament will be announced at a later date.
