COLLEGE STATION, Tex. – University of South Carolina junior Seth Rose lost a third-set tiebreaker Wednesday and fell to Nebraska’s Lance Mills, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6, in the opening round of the NCAA Individual Singles Championships at the Texas A&M Tennis Center.

Rose was one of 64 players selected to play in the individual portion of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships after the Gamecocks were eliminated by top-ranked Georgia, 4-0, in the second round of the team competition two weeks ago. Rose finished the season rated No. 34 in the latest ITA National Rankings and had a 14-13 singles mark mainly at the No. 1 position in rugged SEC action.
