Spartanburg, S.C. – After two rounds of qualifying at the 30th South Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship at the Country Club of Spartanburg, five Gamecocks advanced to the finals. The field was cut to the low 32 players for match play that begins Friday morning and will continue through Sunday.

Jake Thompson, currently in third place with a two round score of 138, is the highest Gamecock at the amateur. Thompson fired a first round score of 66, followed with an even-par 72. Columbia, S.C. native, Scott Feaster is in a five-way tie for seventh after shooting 142. Feaster struggled a little in the first round with a score of 75, but improved on day two after blasting 67, the lowest score of the day.

Alex Hamilton shot 144, while Michael Maness and Jason Huguet posted a two-day total of 146.
