Columbia, S.C. – Inclement weather cancelled the final round of the 2002 Eastern Amateur, giving USC’s Alex Hamilton his second top five finish of the summer.

Hamilton shot three consecutive sub-par rounds (68-66-69) to finish third at this year’s open. Earlier this month, the Aiken, S.C. native placed second at the Rice Planters Amateur.

Gamecock teammates Jake Thompson shot 213 (69-71-73), while Michael Maness fired 221 (76-69-76).

Braxton Wynns won the individual title with a score of 199.
