South Carolina golfer Kacy Thompson currently is in Korea with the United States All-Star team in the middle of a month-long tour of Korea, Japan and Hong Kong. The 10-member team played in various tournaments in Japan for 17 days before heading to Korea over the weekend.

In the team diary (click above for the daily trip details), Thompson has been mentioned numerous times as leading the team that day in scoring. She led a group to a team championship in a tournament in their final competition in Japan.

Thompson finished the 2001-02 season with a 78.02 stroke average, playing in all 11 tournaments, including the 2002 NCAA Championships. Thompson had four Top 20 finishes and two in the Top 10 which included a season-best fifth place finish at the LSU/Cleveland Classic in Baton Rouge, La.

The Team Asia tour started 18 years ago as a 10-day event, and has grown to a month-long tour for the best women’s collegiate amateur golfers for the purpose of goodwill and competition between East and West.
