Columbia, S.C. – Two South Carolina golfers stand in the top three after round one of the South Carolina State Amateur in Hilton Head, S.C.

Gamecock Nash Elliot blasted 68 in the first round of the South Carolina Amateur to lead the tournament field. Elliot is currently tied for first with Jack Ferguson. Jake Thompson fired a two-under-par 70 to place third.

Other Gamecock notables in the amateur are Scott Feaster, who shot 73, and Alex Hamilton (76).

The second round of the four-day tournament at The Long Cove Club begins Friday, Aug. 2 at 7:30 a.m.
