COLUMBIA, S.C. –
The South Carolina Athletics Department asked for input earlier this week on the design of the new floor at the Carolina Center. Individuals had the choice of one of three court designs on www.uscsports.com this week, and the design on this page was the one chosen by USC and by the overwhelming majority (almost 5,000 votes) of Gamecock fans.

Gamecock fans are the greatest in the world! In less than four days (approximately 90 hours), more than 7,600 people expressed their opinions on the court design. Almost 5,000 (64 percent) chose Design #1, with the other two designs splitting the remaining 35 percent of the vote. The details of the voting are below:

The arena floor will be sanded and painted starting next week, with the Gamecock men’s and women’s basketball teams starting action on the court in mid-November at the Carolina Center.

Don’t forget that Gamecock Club members, and USC faculty, staff and students
have the opportunity to tour the construction site of the Carolina Center
from noon-4 p.m. this Sunday, Aug. 11.
