Uscsports.com spent some time with sophomore middle blocker Niece Curry for this week’s “A Few Minutes With…” segment. Curry is a Michigan native and in this week’s series, she talks about returning to her home state to play and discusses her thoughts on this year’s freshman class, being at USC and more.
uscsports.com: How does it feel getting a chance to play in your home state?
NC: I am very excited to come back to my home state and play in front of my family. This will be the first time my sister will get to see me play as a Gamecock. This will also be the first time I will get to see my brand new niece. I’m so happy about that.
uscsports.com: What do you think is your biggest improvement as a player since you arrived at Carolina?
NC: Learning how to deal with my frustrations. Plus, I have gained more self-confidence in my ability to play.
uscsports.com: Do you have any pre-match rituals:
NC: I always listen to music. That always gets me in the right mindset.
uscsports.com: Name one song that really pumps you up or gets you motivated.
NC: “Bounce”
uscsports.com: What makes you nervous?
NC: Speaking in public.
uscsports.com: List three words that describe this year’s freshmen class:
NC: Energetic, goofy, spirited
uscsports.com: What is your favorite thing to wear?
NC: Jeans, a tank top and AI’s.
uscsports.com: What is your favorite class at USC?
NC: The photography class I am currently taking this fall.
uscsports.com: In your spare time, what do you like to do?
NC: Read and listen to music.
