COLUMBIA, S.C. –
The South Carolina volleyball program will be hosting the 20th Carolina Classic volleyball tournament this weekend at the Volleyball Competition Facility in Columbia, S.C. Arizona State, Creighton, and No. 13 Pacific will be competing in one of the tournament’s strongest fields ever.
Action gets underway Friday, September 6th at 4:00 as Creighton takes on Pacific. The Gamecocks will follow with a match at 7:00 p.m. as they square off against Arizona State. Carolina is 1-1 all time against the Sun Devils. Carolina won the last match in 2001 by a score of 3-2.
Saturday’s action starts at 10:00 a.m. as South Carolina faces Creighton. This will be the first meeting between the two schools. Arizona State takes on Pacific at 12:30 p.m. At 5:30 p.m., Creighton takes on Arizona State and the nightcap gets underway at 7:30 as Carolina will take on Pacific. Pacific leads the all-time series against Carolina 1-0, defeating the Gamecocks 3-0 in 1998.
During Friday’s matches, fans can donate an item to Sister Care and get into the matches for only $1.00. Saturday is “Family Day,” all children get in free with a paid adult. In addition to Family Day, Saturday is also Camper day. Any child wearing a USC sports camp t-shirt will get in free. Tickets are $5 for Adults, $2 for Students and $10 for Families.
