COLUMBIA, S.C. –
In the wake of a 3-0 upset of then-No. 13 ranked Pacific Tigers at the Carolina Classic, the South Carolina Volleyball team vaulted up to 23rd in the national volleyball poll put out by USA Today and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). South Carolina was ranked 26th on the preseason poll. This is the first time this season that Carolina has been in the top 25. In the Volleyball Magazine poll, South Carolina’s highest ranking is 24th.

South Carolina currently ranks 18th in the nation in attendence, ranked by average. The Gamecocks have averaged 633 fans over three matches. Currently, their largest attendence this season occured Sept. 6th when 1,023 Carolina faithful cheered the Gamecocks to a 3-1 win over Arizona State.

Tonight the Garnet and Black host archrival Clemson at 7:00 p.m. at the Volleyball Competition Facility in Columbia. The first 200 fans to the match will receive a free “Beat Clemson” t-shirt.
