Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s soccer team (3-1) opens a three-game homestand on Wednesday evening, hosting the No. 18 Clemson Tigers (2-2). The match is set for 7 p.m. at Stone Stadium. Carolina is coming off a weekend split at the Puma Classic in Charlotte. The Gamecocks earned a 4-1 victory on Sunday afternoon vs. East Carolina.

“I think we are anxious to see how we compete with Clemson and we need to step up and meet the challenge,” said USC head coach Shelley Smith. “Clemson is a dangerous and athletic team with a lot of speed. It will be a battle and we are looking forward to the test.”

Carolina is currently ranked 10th in the Southeast Region. The Gamecocks are looking for the school’s first victory vs. the Tigers since 1996 when USC defeated Clemson 3-2 in Columbia.

Live audio broadcast for the match will be available on USCSPORTS.COM. Kevin McCrarey and Richard Rowell will handle the broadcasting duties beginning at 7 p.m.
