The University of South Carolina women’s soccer team (3-2) continues its three-game homestand on Saturday afternoon with a noon match vs. College of Charleston. Carolina is coming off a 1-0 loss to No. 18 Clemson on Wednesday evening. South Carolina leads the series with College of Charleston 2-1-2.
Last season the Gamecocks and Cougars opened the year with a 0-0 tie in Charleston. The Gamecocks outshot CofC 26-10 in the match and Carolyn Ortega played the entire 120 minutes as goalkeeper for USC without allowing a goal.
Carolina will next host Charleston Southern on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Stone Stadium. The SEC season begins in two weeks as USC hosts Florida on Sunday, September 29.
