COLUMBIA S.C.-Midfielder Jess Julin’s header in the second half was the lone goal South Carolina needed to defeat the North Carolina State Wolfpack on Saturday, Sept. 21, in Raleigh, N.C.
“We had a rough first half, we came out flat and didn’t compete.” said Coach Shelley Smith “We stepped it up in the second half.”
Julin’s goal fifteen minutes into the second half was assisted by Camille Toney and Erica Bowie. North Carolina State outshot USC 10-5. Carolina’s goalkeeper Elise Matthews turned away all ten of the Wolfpack’s shots.
