Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina Gamecocks improved by nine strokes on the day, moving them up three spots to 12th place at the Carpet Capital Collegiate in Dalton, Ga. The Gamecocks shot a two-round score of 587 (298-289). Florida continues to lead the 18-team field, followed by Clemson and UNLV.

Gamecocks Michael Maness, West Streib and Eirik Johansen all fired even-par 72 on the second day of action. Maness contunes to lead the five-man squad with a two-day total of 142. Maness is currently in ninth place.

In day two, Streib improved by three stokes to fire 72 and move up to 40th. Johansen and Rominger each registered a two-round total of 149 to tie for 49th. Closing out the Gamecock squad is Alex Hamilton who stands in 72nd place.

Wake Forest’s Bill Haas, leads the individual field with a score of 138.

The final round of competition concludes on Sunday, Sept. 29.
