Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina men’s golf team fired a two-round score of 577 (289-288) to finish day one in third place at the Turtle Bay Intercollegiate in Kahuku, Hawaii. UNLV leads the 17-team field, followed by Southeastern Conference foe Tennessee.

Leading the Gamecocks are freshman Eirik Johansen and sophomore Martin Rominger who are currently tied for sixth with an even-par score of 144. Atlanta, Ga., native, West Streib, is in a six-way tie for 20th after shooting a two-round score of 147. Alex Hamilton is tied for 26th with a score of 148, while Michael Maness posted a two round score of 149 (79-70)

Tennessee’s David Skinns leads the intercollegiate with a six-under-par score of 138.

The final round of competition begins at 1:30 p.m Eastern time on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
