Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s soccer team (11-7-1) will host Coastal Carolina (18-2-2) on Saturday, Nov. 23 for the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

The series between the two teams is tied at 2-2-1. At home, South Carolina is 2-1-0 against the Chanticleers.

South Carolina, playing in its third consecutive NCAA Tournament, and Coastal Carolina both received at-large bids into the 2002 NCAA Tournament. Saturday marks the 16th tournament appearance for the Gamecocks.

The Gamecocks are 7-3 all-time when hosting the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The winner of the South Carolina-Coastal Carolina match will play at Clemson on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 7:00 p.m.

This year’s field consists of 48 teams, 22 automatic bids and 26 at-large bids. The top 16 teams received first-round byes.

Ticket prices for Saturday’s matchup are $8 for adults and $5 for students and youth. Tickets will be available at Eugene E. Stone III Stadium which opens two hours prior to kickoff.
