I can’t believe that it’s that time of year again. When your season comes down to win or go home, for good. This time there is no next time or better luck next year. For the six seniors this is our last go round and I believe we are ready to take the next step. That step would be reaching the Sweet 16. We have the opportunity to go back to North Carolina and get a little redemption. We have learned that we need to take one match at a time and that will be American at 5 p.m. on Thursday. I am not looking ahead and not taking anything for granted. This time of year you can only go day by day….

On the road again! We leave at 7 p.m. for North Carolina and I’m in the process of doing some last minute preparations. We had today off from practice, partly in order for us to get our classes taken care of for the week and to get some rest. I’m excited about this week and all the possibilities it holds, but more than anything I want to enjoy the experience. I feel blessed to be surrounded by a great group of individuals and if we play like the team I know we can, then we will be pretty hard to stop.

Well, it has been a great and white day here in North Carolina. When we left the gym from practice we walked to the bus in a winter wonderland. It made me feel a little like I was back home in Michigan. The snowy weather caused us to modify our evening plans; because of the poor roads we were snowed in, but as a result, we had a very nice and relaxing dinner in the hotel. I am getting excited for tomorrow and can’t wait to get on the court. We had a quality and intense practice this afternoon and watched some film on American. Now I have some idea what to expect from them and we are putting our game plan in place. It will come down to which team is more prepared and which team performs to their best ability. The time is now for this team to put it all together.

Today was one of those days filled with unexpected obstacles. As a result of the massive snow and ice storm, we woke up to no power in our hotel room. We walked out of our rooms only to be greeted by dark hallways littered with glow sticks. Not only were the hotel hallways littered, so were all of the streets by fallen trees and power lines, causing us to take an alternate route to the gym. During the start of the third game, the lights went out in Carolina. A black out occurred, forcing a twenty minute delay. After the match we drove an hour to find a power filled hotel. In all, it was one crazy day that we all will remember, and I almost forgot… we made it to the second round!
