The South Carolina Men’s Golf Team took advantage of the three-day weekend by heading to the Low Country to prepare for the upcoming spring season. W.D. and Doris Blackmon treated the team with a traditional Low Country boil in Chechessee, S.C. During their time in the Low Country, the Gamecocks had the opportunity to play at several prestigious golf courses. The University of South Carolina played at the Oldfield, Old Tabby Links and Colleton River golf clubs. South Carolina closed out the three-day adventure with a 54-hole, par 3 competition at the Colleton River golf course. Freshman Eirik Johansen and sophomore Martin Rominger, posting seven-under-par, tied for the win. Redshirt sophomore Matt Robinson won the nine-hole, par 3 shootout.

The Gamecocks begin the 2003 season on Feb. 10-11 at the Compaq/Tulane Intercolliegate in New Orleans, La.
