BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) – Ronald Dupree and Collis Temple III scored 17 points apiece to lead LSU to a 71-58 Southeastern Conference victory over South Carolina Wednesday night.

LSU (13-7, 2-6) broke a five-game losing streak that forced the Tigers out of the polls and into last place in the SEC West division.

Injury-plagued South Carolina (7-11, 1-7) lost its seventh consecutive conference game after opening league play with a win over Mississippi. The Gamecocks are 0-8 on the road this year and have dropped 10 in a row away from Columbia.

Jaime Lloreda added 14 points and Darrel Mitchell had 12 for the Tigers.

Carlos Powell led the Gamecocks with 16 points, while Rolando Howell added 11.
