Irmo, SC –
The USC Equestrian Team will host an IHSA competition this Saturday, February 15, at their home stables, the Irish Oaks Equestrian Centre, in Irmo. All teams from the IHSA Zone 5 Region 2 will be participating in the event. The show will be open to both Hunt Seat and Western disciplines. Hunt Seat competition will run from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and Western will go from 2:00 pm until 6:00 p.m. The Jumping will take place around 10:00 a.m. and the Reining event will start around 2:00 p.m.
There is a good chance for rain on Saturday so fans are advised to bring raincoats. Umbrellas are discouraged because they scare the horses if too close to the ring. If umbrellas are brought they must stay 20 feet away from the rail of the ring for the safety of the competitors. There will be concessions on grounds, and the parking is free.
