Columbia, S.C. – Former Gamecock Kyle Thompson blasted a two-under-par score of 71 in the first round of the 2003 Jacob’s Creek Open Championship at the Kooyonga Golf Club in Adelaide, South Australia. The three-time All-American is currently tied for 11th place.

Thompson is a rookie on the 2003 Nationwide Tour after advancing to the final stage of the PGA Qualifying Tournament last fall. Last season Thompson played in three NGA Hooters Tour events and placed in the top six in each tournament.
