Columbia, S.C. – Former Gamecock Kyle Thompson made the second-round cut of the 2003 Jacob’s Creek Open Championship at the Kooyonga Golf Club in Adelaide, South Australia after struggling in round two with a score of 78. The three-time All-American tallied a two-round score of 147 (69-78) to tie for 61st, making the second round cut. The 161-person field was shaved to 73 on Friday, February 28.

Round three of the four-day event begins at 7:15 a.m. (Australian time) on Saturday, March 1.

Thompson is a rookie on the 2003 Nationwide Tour after advancing to the final stage of the PGA Qualifying Tournament last fall. Last season Thompson played in three NGA Hooters Tour events and placed in the top six in each tournament.
