Columbia, S.C. – Three USC women posted provisional qualifying marks at the UNC-NCAA Qualifier meet in Chapel Hill, N.C. The meet was one of two “last chance” qualifying opportunities involving Gamecock athletes ahead of next weekend’s NCAA Indoor Championships.

Nicole Kendrick and India Odum placed first and second with provisional marks in the shot put. Kendrick mark was 51’11.25 while Odum posted a season-best mark of 50’07.50.

Rashida Abdul-Malik posted a provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump while placing second in the event. Her mark of 41’02.25 is a season-best.

South Carolina is scheduled to send ten athletes to the Iowa State NCAA Qualifier meet this weekend in Des Moines. The Gamecocks also will participate in an outdoor meet on Saturday, the Jackson State Invitational.

USC’s men’s team is ranked No. 2 and the women hold the No. 6 spot in this week’s Trackwire 25 rankings. The Gamecocks will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships March 14-15 in Fayetteville, Ark.
