Columbi, S.C. – South Carolina enters the final round of the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla. in second place. Three Gamecocks are currently in the top 10: Nash Elliot, 1st; Eirik Johansen, 6th; Alex Hamilton, 10th.
With two holes remaining in the second round, play was suspended due to darkness last night. The Gamecocks completed round two early this morning and posted the lowest team score of the tournament with a twelve-under-par 276. Riding a seven-under-par score of 65 shot by redshirt junior Nash Elliot, South Carolina vaulted to second place before entering the third round.
Elliot’s second round score of 65 is the third lowest score posted in South Carolina history. Only four other Gamecocks have tallied a low round score of 65. Elliot was not the only Gamecock to prove successful in the seond round of play. Eirik Johansen and Alex Hamilton both fired two-under-par scores of 70 , while teammate Martin Rominger posted 71. Closing out the five-man squad was West Streib, who shot 73.
