Auburn, Ala. – South Carolina completed the second day of competition at the Zone B Championships with several divers reaching the finals of both the men’s three-meter and women’s one-meter events. Sophomore Lauren King placed seventh (570.35) and sophomore Allison Brennan placed eighth (559.85) on the one-meter while sophomore Andy Bradley finished 11th (298.55) in the men’s three-meter event.

Sophomore Tracey Richardson also reached the finals on the one-meter and placed 12th with a score of 536.00. Katie Beth Bryant of Miami (Fla.) won the event with a score of 631.35. Clayton Moss of Kentucky won his second event of the Zone Championships with a score of 664.55 on the three-meter board. Sophomore Dean Emmerton was 27th (243.55) and freshman Ian Balman (223.80) was 30th in the prelims for the USC men.

Three South Carolina divers qualified for the NCAA Championships on Friday for South Carolina. Sophomore Andy Bradley finished second on the one-meter board with a score of 700.45 and sophomores Tracey Richardson (503.65) and Lauren King (501.45) placed fourth and fifth respectively on the women’s three-meter to qualify for USC. This is the second consecutive year Bradley has qualified for the NCAA Championships. As a freshman at BYU, Bradley earned honorable mention All-American honors with a 16th place finish on the one-meter board. Bradley had two fourth place finishes at the SEC Championships this year.

On the women’s side, Richardson, the SEC champion in the three-meter board qualified for her second consecutive year. This is also King’s second time qualifying for the NCAA Championships and her first as a member of USC. Sophomore Allison Brennan also competed and reached the finals of the three-meter board, placing 10th with a score of 471.80.

The NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships will be held in Auburn, Ala. from March 20-23 with the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships March 27-29 in Austin, Texas.
