Auburn, Ala. – No. 18 South Carolina fell at No. 29 Auburn, 6-1, in their Friday afternoon SEC match. The loss drops the Gamecocks to 13-3 overall and 3-3 in SEC action.

After USC fell behind when Auburn won the doubles point, No. 67 Seth Rose won his match at No. 1 singles. The senior defeated 17th-ranked Rameez Junaid in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), upping his dual match record to 11-3 overall and 9-3 at No. 1.

Carolina’s Angelo Niculescu, ranked No. 72, was upset by the Tigers’ Andrew Colombo, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5), while teammate Ben Atkinson suffered his first defeat of the season at No. 6 singles when he fell to Andre Boz, 2-6, 6-4, (10-6).

The Gamecocks conclude their trip the state of Alabama on Sunday with a 1 p.m. (CT) match against the 16th-ranked Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa.
