Browns Summitt, N.C. – Kristy McPherson shot a one-over par 73 on Saturday after firing a three-under par 69 on Friday, to remain in a tie atop the individual leader board heading into Sunday’s final round at the Bryan National Collegiate Tournament hosted by Wake Forest University.

McPherson is in a four-way tie with Nuria Clau of Wake Forest, who vaulted up to the top spot with a Saturday round of five-under par 67, and a pair of Vanderbilt Lady Commodores, Courtney Wood and May Wood.

The Lady Gamecocks shot a 307 in Saturday’s action for a two-day total of 601, finishing the day in a tie for sixth place, five strokes out of third place. Duke is in first with a score of 580, Vanderbilt is second at 584 with Georgia third (596), host Wake Forest fourth (597) and Tennessee fifth (600). USC is tied with SEC rival Auburn at 601.

Kory Thompson fired Carolina’s second-best round of the day, finishing Saturday’s 18 with a score of 76 while Kacy Thompson shot a second-round 78 and is tied for 36th place.

The Lady Gamecocks resume action Sunday with the final round of the tournament at the Brian Park Golf Course in Browns Summit, N.C.
