Charleston, S.C. – Representing the garnet and black, Nash Elliot shot a four-round total of 286 (73-70-70-73) to finish in a tie for eighth place at the Azalea Amateur held at the Country Club of Charleston. Elliot’s eighth place finish was the highest of the Gamecocks competing in the amateur event.

Martin Rominger fired a four-day score of 289 (71-70-67-81), tying for 17th place. Rominger shot three under-par scores before posting 81 in the final round of play.

Alex Hamilton finished in 39th with a score of 296 (76-67-76-77). Hamilton and Rominger both shot the low round score of 67 for their respective days.

Also competing for South Carolina, but unable to make the final round cut, was Matt Robinson. Robinson, shooting a three-day total of 224, was one stroke back from making the cut.

The Gamecocks resume NCAA action next weekend at the ASU-Cleveland Golf Collegiate in August, Ga.
