Browns Summit, N.C. – Sunday’s round at the Bryan National Collegiate in Browns Summit, N.C. was canceled due to rain. The 54-hole tournament was reduced to 36 and Nuria Clau of Wake Forest won the tiebreaker between four players including Lady Gamecock All-American Kristy McPherson.

McPherson finished Saturday’s round in a tie for first place with a two-day score of two-under par 142. McPherson was tied along with Clau, May Wood of Vanderbilt, and Courtney Wood, also of Vanderbilt.

The Lady Gamecocks finished the tournament tied for sixth place, one shot back of a top five finish. Senior Kacy Thompson finished tied for 36th place with a total score of 153. Junior Marci Robinson was next for the Lady Gamecocks finishing in a tie for 43rd place with a score of 154.

Defending National Champion Duke won by four strokes over Vanderbilt. Duke finished with a score of 580 while Vanderbilt shot a 584. Georgia was third with a 596, while Wake Forest was close behind with a 597. Tennessee rounded out the top five with a score of 600.

Clau, McPherson, Wood, and Wood, all finished in a tie for first place. Leigh Ann Hardin of Duke finished in fifth place with a 143, one stroke back from the pack.
