South Carolina senior Chuck Eidson will play in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament April 9-12 in Portsmouth, Virginia. The 51st Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, the nation’s oldest amateur basketball tournament, is recognized by NBA and European scouts as the premier showcase for hot prospects.
Eidson will play on the Holiday Inn team with the likes of Alabama’s Erwin Dudley and Maryland’s Steve Blake (see below for complete roster of Holiday Inn team).
Eidson finished his USC career with 1,067 points. He holds the career record at USC with 272 steals, which is No. 3 on the SEC all-time list.
“This is a great opportunity for Chuck and one that is well deserved as a great reward for a wonderful career,” said USC Head Coach Dave Odom. “He has worked hard since the season ended to keep himself in playing shape. I expect him to go to Virginia and make a really good impression. This is an important opportunity for him if he would like to play post-graduate. He deserves the chance to showcase his skills.”
