No. 13 South Carolina is seeded seventh in the SEC Men’s Tennis Tournament and will face 10th-seeded and 20th-ranked Georgia in a 5 p.m. CDT first-round match on Thursday in Oxford, Miss. The winner of that match will advance to play the second-seeded Vanderbilt Commodores, ranked No. 8 in the nation, Friday evening at 5 p.m. CDT.
The Gamecocks won their regular season match against the Bulldogs, 5-2, back on April 4 in Columbia. USC finished the season 17-6 overall, 5-6 in the SEC and in a three-way tie for fifth-place with LSU and Auburn. Second-ranked Florida earned the conference tournament’s top-seed after posting an 11-0 SEC record.
