South Carolina junior soccer player Robert Rosenberg and sophomore swimmer Amy Hartland were named to the fifth annual men’s and women’s Southeastern Conference at-large Good Works Team. The Good Works Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
Robert Rosenberg, a native of Dallas, Texas, has participated in CAPS clinic to benefit Children’s Chance, a soccer clinic with local Boy’s and Girl’s clubs and has served as a volunteer at the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of the Midland’s Walk for a Cure. Rosenberg gives fourth and fifth graders at Brockman Elementary School guided tours of USC’s athletic facilities and was the DARE speaker at Caughman Elementary School. The sports and entertainment management major also participated in a charity softball game benefiting Heartworks.
Amy Hartland, a sophomore from Novi, Mich., has been involved in countless activities during her two years in Columbia. Hartland’s work includes delivering food to a local shelter at Thanksgiving, participating in Adopt-A-Highway Clean-Up and volunteering at a Silent/Charity Auction to benefit the Animal protection League of South Carolina. The psychology major has also judged Girl Scout banners and visited with foster children during an afternoon holiday party.
