Columbia, S.C. – With a combined score of 313, the University of South Carolina men’s golf team is tied for 21st with UNLV after round one of the NCAA Championships at the Karsten Creek Country Club in Stillwater, Okla.

There is a four-way tie for first place between host Oklahoma State, NC State, Clemson and Auburn with a score of 299.

Leading the way for the Gamecocks is Eirik Johansen, who posted three-over-par 75. The 2003 First Team All-SEC member stands in 29th place after opening and closing the first round of competition with a pair of birdies.

En route to a total of 76, Martin Rominger fired five birdies. Rominger is currently tied for 44th place. Sophomore Alex Hamilton shot 79 and is tied for 87th. With a score of 83, Nash Elliott is in 125th place, while West Streib posted 89.

Auburn’s Lee Williams leads the individual field with a three-under-par score of 69.

The Gamecocks tee-off round two of the four-day tournament at 12:45 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday, May 28.
