Columbia, S.C.- South Carolina golfer Jonathan Jackson fired a 70 on the final day of competition at the 10th annual J.M. Bryan Amateur to win the title. Jackson, a native of Chapel Hill, N.C., finished the tournament with a four-under-par score to hold off Greensboro College’s Rocky Manning. Jackson and Manning were the only two tournament participants to finish with scores below par.

Entering the final round Jackson and Manning were tied. An eagle on the 15th hole extended Jackson’s lead that he would not relinquish. The first place finish by Jackson followed his runner-up performance in last year’s tournament. The J.M Bryan Amateur tournament is held at the Bryan Park’s Champions Course, in Greensboro, N.C.
