Charlotte, N.C. – South Carolina golfer Jonathan Jackson fired a two-under-par 70 on the final day of competition in the North Carolina Amateur Championships to help himself to a 13th place finish. Jackson shot five-over-par for the tournament which was played at Myers Park Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. Jackson will compete in the 57th Annual Herald-Sun Golf Classic in Durham, N.C. from June 16-22. To determine match play pairings, qualifying will be held on Monday and Tuesday.

Jason Huguet, Matt Robinson, and Jake Thompson participated in the Carolina Amateur Match Play at Green Valley Country Club in Greenville, S.C. All three made the cut to qualify for the match play portion of the tournament. Huguet defeated Josh Campbell and Rick Boone three and two in the first and second rounds, respectively. In Saturday’s quarterfinal matchup, Huguet defeated Shane Birckbichler four and three to advance to a semifinal matchup with Todd White where he was defeated five and four. Robinson defeated Ellison McCoy five and four before he also fell to eventual runner-up Todd White, three and two. Robinson will participate in the North-South Amateur Tournament June 29-July 4. Thompson was defeated after 19 holes by Birckbichler. The Festival of Flowers at Greenwood Country Club, June 28-29, is the next tournament on Thompson’s schedule.
