COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina’s 2002 Volleyball Media Guide was named the best in the district Monday, topping 16 other media guides in the annual media guide competition. The Gamecocks media guide was named the top guide in District III by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
South Carolina’s volleyball media guide placed ahead of runner-up Florida and third-place finisher Central Florida in the district. Receiving the title of “Best in Nation” was the University of Missouri with the national second place title awarded to the Gamecocks’ Southeastern Conference foe the University of Kentucky.
South Carolina ended the 2002 campaign with a 22-7 record, 14-2 in the SEC in one of USC’s most successful seasons in school history. The Garnet and Black kick-off the 2003 season at the University of Southern California Tournament in Los Angeles, Calif. on August 29-30 as Carolina takes on Ball State, Northern Iowa, and defending national champion Southern California.
