AMARILLO, Texas – No matter if you’re a Poke, Aggie, Bulldog, Buffalo, or even a Gamecock, you won’t want to miss the Varsity Equestrian Championships presented by American Quarter Horse Association on the College Sports TV (CSTV), July 3 at 8 p.m. Eastern and August 1 at 11 p.m. Eastern.

Grab a seat for the Varsity Equestrian Championships held at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, where teams from several conferences battled in Western and English disciplines for the national title. Learn first-hand what drives the equestrians who have their sights set on future championships and maybe a gold medal. South Carolina is one of only three Southeastern Conference schools that competes in Equestrian.

“We’re excited to showcase the talented riders who are the future of the horse industry,” said Bill Brewer, AQHA Executive Vice President. “CSTV is the prime outlet to feature this type of competition.”

Equestrian is recognized as an emerging sport by the National Collegiate Athletic Association and is offered at 12 Division I and six Division II colleges from coast to coast. In order to reach full varsity status and boast an NCAA National Championship, there must be a total of 40 Division I and II schools offering equestrian sports.

CSTV is the first 24-hour college sports network and features a wide array of men’s and women’s college sports from numerous athletic conferences. CSTV can be found on DIRECTV, Channel 610. Visit CSTV for more information.
