Columbia, S.C. – Incoming freshman Katelyn Panzau was recently named to the USA Junior Olympic Volleyball Championships 18-Club All-Tournament Team. Panzau, one of 17 girls selected, is a setter for Team St. Louis 181, which competed in the Gold Championship Bracket and tied for fifth in the overall tournament. The Junior Olympics were held June 25-July 2 in Atlanta, Ga. where 64 teams competed in the 18 Club Division.
“This is a great honor for Katelyn and she is very deserving,” said head coach Kim Christopher. “She played well at Nationals and I am excited that she is being recognized for her efforts.”
Panzau is a 5-11 two-time Illinois All-State setter who attended Bellville Township High School West. The setter is also one of Volleyball Magazine’s Fab 50 picks and will begin practice with the Gamecocks in August.
