The 2003 Wachovia USTA Junior Davis Cup Tournament final is set for a Southern versus Southern California showdown at 11:30 am on Tuesday at the Sam Daniel Tennis Center on the USC campus.

Southern advanced to the final with a 7-0 win over Eastern on Monday afternoon. Southern cruised easily even though number one player Bobby Cameron had a tough match with Eastern’s Steven Peretz. Cameron, ranked 18th in the country, won the first set 6-2 but dropped the second set 7-5 before winning in the third set 6-4.

Southern California advanced with a 5-2 victory over Florida. Southern California seeded third in the tournament defeated New England 6-1 in the opening round and Texas 5-2 Sunday in the second round.

The battle for third place will be between Florida and Eastern at 8:30 am on Tuesday at the Sam Daniel Tennis Center. The rest of the consolation matches will be played at the Columbia Tennis Center and the Maxcy Gregg Tennis Facility.

The 2003 Junior Davis Cup Tournament features the best tennis players in the nation as they compete on a team representing their section. Many of the nation’s top collegiate tennis coaches in the country are here evaluating and recruiting the players. Below are day three results:
