COLUMBIA, S.C. – Two USC golfers had impressive showings this weekend at the South Carolina Amateur Championship held at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, S.C. Rising junior Alex Hamilton fired a final round one-under-par 71 to finish in a tie for fourth. The native of Aiken compiled a four round total score of 287 (70-73-73-71). Nash Elliot, a native of West Columbia shot a four round total of 292 (75-74-69-74) and finished in a tie for tenth place.

Wake Forest player and Greenville resident, Bill Haas held off Emmett Turner during the final round to claim the State Amateur Championship title. Haas, the son of PGA Tour veteran Jay Haas finished the tournament with an eight-under-par score of 280 (70-70-70-70).
