Columbia, S.C. – After the first day of action at the Kiawah Intercollegiate at the Turtle Point, Kiawah Island Resort, the Gamecocks stand in ninth place with a one-round score of 304. Mississippi leads the 14-team field with a score of 292. The tournament originally called for two rounds today and one round tomorrow, but after a torrential downpour this morning halted play until 12:30 p.m., with the first group only having completed nine holes, the decision was made to cut out the third round and play the second round and final round tomorrow.

Senior Nash Elliott led the Gamecocks with a one-under-par score of 71. Elliott is currently tied for fifth. Alex Hamilton and Robert Svensson both fired 77 to tie for 38th. Standing in 47th with a total of 79 is Martin Rominger, while Eirik Johansen carded 80. Gamecock Jason Huguet played as an individual and recorded a score of 79.
