Columbia, S.C. – After recording two shutouts as the Gamecocks defeated Jacksonville, 4-0, and Alabama A&M, 3-0, freshman goalkeeper Brad Guzan was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week. Guzan helped No. 8 South Carolina capture the 2003 Gamecock Soccer Classic title. For his efforts over the weekend, Guzan was also named the tournament’s defensive MVP.

For the season, Guzan has only allowed two goals in six matches for a goals against average of .333. The freshman from Lockport, Illinois, is ranked in the top 20 in NCAA Division I soccer for goals against average.
