COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Volleyball completed a sweep of the Ole Miss Rebels Friday night 3-0 as Lynae Vanden Hull led Carolina with 12 kills and 13 digs – her fifth double double of the season. Nicole Miller also added 12 kills while Iris Santos made 13 digs to aide the Gamecock victory. Game scores were 30-19, 30-16 and 30-24.

“I’m really pleased with our win tonight,” said Carolina Head Coach Kim Hudson Christopher. “We showed good rhythm and good tempo. Sarah [Morgan] played very well in the libero position and Nicole [Miller] had a good match in the middle. Lynae [Vanden Hull] had a great performance as well with her double double.”

Carolina hit an impressive .342 while holding Ole Miss to .067 on the match. The Gamecocks out-killed the Rebels 54-26 and out-dug Ole Miss 53-39.

In game one, USC held Ole Miss to a -.179 hitting percentage while hitting .182. Vanden Hull posted four kills and three digs in the game while Shonda Cole added four kills as well. Carolina also made four total team blocks in the game to Ole Miss’ one.

Game two witnessed a much tougher Gamecock team as the Garnet and Black hit .500 while holding Ole Miss to a hitting percentage of .061. Vanden Hull posted five kills while Santos notched four. Nicole Miller notched five kills on the game as Carolina out-killed the Rebels 21-9. Vanden Hull also served up two aces in the game.

Game three witnessed Ole Miss come out firing early, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Gamecocks charge as Carolina sealed the match sweep with a 30-24 victory. Niece Curry notched five kills for Carolina while Santos posted four and Vanden Hull added three and a service aces. Defensively, Santos made seven digs in the game for Carolina while Vanden Hull added six and Sarah Morgan had five.

South Carolina now faces the Bulldogs of Mississippi State Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Columbia as they continue their SEC Western Division schedule stretch.
