Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men and women’s swimming and diving team open up the 2003-04 slate in Charleston against the Cougars at the Stern Center Pool at 4pm on Friday afternoon. The men’s team is looking to improve on finishing 20th last season while the women’s team finished 24th.

“I think the meet should be a good barometer to see where we are at and figure out our strengths and weaknesses,” stated USC Head Coach Don Gibb. “We are looking forward to seeing how our freshman respond in their first collegiate outing.”

In the series, the men hold a 13-0 mark against Charleston while the women are 14-0. Last year, the men’s team defeated Charleston 143-125 at the Carolina Natatorium while the women’s team won 153-127.
