Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina women’s soccer team returns to Stone Stadium for its final home weekend of the season with matches vs. Vanderbilt and Kentucky. The Gamecocks host Vanderbilt on Friday at 7 p.m. and conclude the weekend on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. vs. the Wildcats. Carolina is 8-5-2 overall, 1-2-1 in the SEC and ranked ninth this week in the NSCAA Southeast Region Poll.

University of South Carolina associate head women’s soccer coach Jamie Smith will be honored on Friday night before the USC-Vanderbilt women’s soccer match with the AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year Award. Smith, who was promoted to associate head coach in April, is one of 500 assistant college coaches in all college sports across the nation to earn the award.

Sunday afternoon’s match vs. Kentucky is Senior Day with the South Carolina senior players honored and recognized. Erica Bowie, Becca Epstein, Melissa Hutson, Alison Jarrow and Elise Matthews will each be recognized before the game as they play in their final weekend at Stone Stadium.

Carolina heads into the weekend looking to break a two-game losing streak following losses at Georgia and Tennessee last week. USC split vs Vanderbilt and Kentucky last year with a 1-0 win vs. the Wildcats and a 2-0 loss to the Commodores. Sunday afternoon’s match with Kentucky will be broadcast live at USCSPORTS.COM.
