Florida enters Friday’s contest with a 26-1 record overall and a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play. The Gators have not lost a regular season SEC game since last year against LSU. Prior to that, the last team to win a game against the Gators was South Carolina in 2001 and South Carolina was also the last team to take Florida to five games in a regular season conference match since 1994. Florida leads the series 29-6.
On Sunday, the Gamecocks face the Bulldogs at 1:30. Georgia enters the match with a 15-11 overall record and a 8-6 mark in conference play. Georgia defeated South Carolina 3-1 back on October 24th in Athens. The loss to Georgia snapped South Carolina’s four match win streak against the Bulldogs who lead the series 34-12 but under Coach Kim Christopher, the series is 12-11 in Georgia’s favor.
Sunday’s match will also be Senior Day as Carolina will honor their lone senior, Mariana Branquinho. After Sunday’s match, the Gamecocks will return to action when they take part in the SEC Volleyball Tournament, November 21-23 in Columbia.
