Florida Head Coach Mary Wise:
“If we kept Tennessee’s hitting percentage below .200 we felt we’d have a good chance to win the match. We needed to play defense, Tennessee is the best passing team in the league. Credit our blocking and back row defense. Blocking comes in bunches.
(On SEC championship game):
“There is a lot riding on it in terms of the SEC Champion getting an automatic bid. Getting the automatic bid will take a whole lot of the speculation out of it. Whoever we face, Arkansas or Alabama, we will see them at their best.”
Jane Collymore, Florida, So., Outside Hitter
“Every year I gained experience. Freshman year I was green. Playing with and watching Aury Cruz you gain experience, you gain more confidence in yourself.”
(On SEC Championship game):
“Our philosophy is taking it a game at a time. Whatever opponent we face next we are going to take it one game at a time and work on our game play.”
Tennessee Head Coach Rob Patrick
“I was very proud of the way we played today, we came in with a plan and did it. We had many opportunities to score but just couldn’t do it. We played very hard and battled with them for each point, Florida is just a great team who makes the unexpected plays. As a young team we are very excited about the future and the girls see what they can achieve in every aspect.”
Cynthia Buggs, Tennessee, Fr., Libero
“We came out hard and gave it our all. They are a better team but we came out with a lot of intensity and didn’t give up.”
