The University of South Carolina equestrian team will host Kansas State on Saturday, February 7 at 9:30 AM. The competition, which will be a varsity format competition, will be held at the Irish Oaks Equestrian Centre. The varsity format will be the first varsity competition in Columbia. During the fall, South Carolina participated in two varsity competitions.
USC competed against Georgia and Auburn in October. The Gamecocks performance on the road was encouraging. They lost a close competition to Georgia, the 2003 IHSA National Champion in equestrian, by a narrow margin of 1072-1053.25. They responded later in the month by winning at Auburn 1150.9-1112.5.
The Gamecocks will host another varsity competition next Saturday, February 13 against the Georgia Bulldogs. The time has not yet been released.
Directions to Irish Oaks Equestrian Centre: From Columbia – Take exit 102B off of I-26. At the first light turn left onto Kinsley. Kinsley turns into Kennel at the next traffic light. From this light go straight ahead 2.7 miles to the Ascot Subdivision on Kennel Road. At the fourth stop sign, turn right and Irish Oaks is at the end of this road.
