Columbia,S.C. – The University of South Carolina equestrian team will host the Auburn Tigers this Saturday at Irish Oaks Equestrian Centre at 10 a.m. The Gamecocks are coming off a solid showing after a second place finish in Augusta, Ga., where USC competed in an Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competition that was hosted by Augusta State. Other teams that competed were Berry College, Clemson University, Lander College and North Georgia College.

This will be the second meeting of the season between the Gamecocks and Tigers. The first meeting took place in October with the Gamecocks prevailing by a score of 1150.9 -1112.5 in Auburn. This will be USC’s third home varsity competition of the month. The other two competitions were against defending varsity champions, Georgia and Kansas State.

The Gamecocks will travel to Berry College on February 28-29 to compete in an away varsity competition. USC won its last competition against Berry in October, however it was an IHSA competition. Berry is preparing to host the Gamecocks next week after finishing first in Augusta this past weekend. The time for the Berry competition is yet to be announced.

Directions to Irish Oaks Equestrian Centre: From Columbia – Take exit 102B off of I -26. At the first light turn left onto Kinley. Kinley turns into Kennerly at the next traffic light. From this light go straight ahead 2.7 miles to the Ascot Subdivision on Kennerly Road. Turn right into the subdivision. At the fourth stop sign, turn right and Irish Oaks is at the end of this road
